IView version 0.1 2/22/89
(c) Impulse, Inc. Minneapolis, MN. 55430
"IView" is the first "show" program for the Amiga which can display
normal IFF/ILBM standard or overscan pictures, in addition to RGBN pictures
generated by Turbo Silver (all versions) AND "3DPX" Stereo 3D pictures
that are generated by Turbo Silver-SV and Haitex X-Specs software.
IView was created because we are about to introduce Turbo Silver-SV which will
generate Stereo 3D pictures, and the current Haitex show programs do not
properly handle overscan Stereo Pictures. There were also a number of
requests from our users for an RGBN show program for Turbo Silver pictures.
OPERATION
=========
As with most other "show" programs, you can simply type:
IView <filename>
This will show a single picture. Or you may show a series of pictures by
using the syntax:
IView <filename> <filename> <filename> <filename> <filename>
This will let IView cue up a number of pictures to be viewed.
Clicking the mouse button while viewing a picture will bring the title bar
into view. The title bar has a "few" menu items. Clicking the mouse a
second time will remove the title bar.
"REWIND" (Rt Amiga "R") resets the picture list to the first picture in the
list and starts showing from picture 1 again.
"NEXT" (Rt Amiga "N") shows the next picture in the list.
"QUIT" Too damn obvious for an explanation.
In addition to the NEXT and QUIT options, IView also implements both the
<esc> Key and the upper left invisible box to close the window.
All resolutions and pictures styles can be mixed in a single list. When IView
detects the 3DPX chunk in a header it assumes it is a Stereo 3D picture and
will activate Joystick port #2 for either the Sega/Impulse or Haitex Stereo
3D glasses. If the "3DPX" chunk is not read in the next picture, IView will
turn the glasses off.
IView will also operate properly from the wokbench using Icons. If you want
to create your own icon for IView (or steal some one else's) please do.
Using the multiple "select" "double click" system you should be able to show
a entire series of pictures from the workbench.
This is just the first "hack" of IView. Future enhancements planned are
fades, auto-timing, scripts, etc.
IView is placed into the public domain by IMPULSE, Inc., and may be distributed via any medium for PUBLIC DOMAIN USE ONLY!
IView MAY NOT be distributed with any commercial product without the express
written consent of Impulse Inc.
IView may also considered BeerWare. If you use it, like it and want to,
you can send the programmer a can or two of your favorite local brew.
This won't guarantee you any free updates, but it helps keep our staff happy!
